Hi Cathy,
I am a double doodle owner in Nova Scotia. I purchased a male
last September from Marsha and was so thrilled, we purchased a
female from the spring litter. Our male, Zeus, is about 78
pounds and one big, gentle teddy bear. Neither pup is hyper,
they are loving, sweet and friendly. Both are extremly smart...
not just our opinion, anyone who knows them comments on that.
Zeus is well trained, listens and has never been destructive.
Our little girl, Echo, is still puppy foolish, but not hyper and
has not been to puppy school yet but very similar temperment to
Zeus. Marsha has been consistently supportive and very
protective of her Doodles. This is a great breeder with great
dogs and we are happy customers!!

You will
always be glad that you have a Ludwig's Doodle. Our Hobbes
is three now and from the original litter of Dharma and
Bear. If I even hint that I might need a bit of advice, have
a concern, or just want to share, Marsha's on the phone
pronto! This is actually a family you'll be joining.
We're big proponents of as much formal training as you can
manage for these dogs, because they are so smart and are
capable of learning so many things. You will have constant
joy from your new doodle. Good luck!

It makes me so
proud to be a part of this Ludwigs doodle family. The outpouring
of support for Marsha is so touching.I didn't chime in on the
string on Friday, but I spoke to Marsha early on Friday and she
knows that I share in her grief, but in no way would ever hold
her responsible. My husband mentioned that people might be
wondering why I didn't post anything, since I'm a fairly regular
poster here!
So you know how I feel, Murphy is a part of our family and he is
our pet first and foremost. I am honoured that Marsha and I got
together and that our 'stud' can help to bring happiness to so
many families. I have the utmost respect for Marsha and what she
does. I never question what she does with these babies and know
that she looks for only the best forever homes for them. We keep
up to date regularly on how the girls and the puppies are doing.
She even encourages me to come to meet the pups to see how
terrific they are, and share in the joy of them. That I believe
is a unique relationship between breeder and 'stud' owner. We
trust each other and we share a genuine love for our dogs and
their offspring. We also share a belief that there is a reason
for what happens although we may not always find that reason
out.
So just in case there is any question where I stand, I respect
and trust 100% in what Marsha does and believe that there was
nothing that she could have done differently to result in a
different outcome with Dharma's puppies. I am excited to watch
the puppies grow and see their differences. This is the 1st F1B
litter that Murphy has sired so it is new for us too!
And Marsha, Murphy says the only way you will upset him is if
you stop bringing your girls to see him!

I was so sad to
hear this. Please don't blame yourself. Some things are
unavoidable--life is just like that. I remember our phone
conversation when the little female from Dexter's litter died.
You were so sad, and felt so responsible--I felt so badly for
YOU! We all know how much love and attention you give your girls
(and most of all your beloved Dharma!) All the chicken soup and
sleepless nights....you are an extremely dedicated breeder. But,
first and foremost, you are a devoted doggy-mom! I am thankful
that the remaining five arrived safely.
I'll be thinking of you in the coming days. Try to take care of
yourself too--you've had an emotionally draining couple days.
All the best,
Janet

We all know how
truely wonderful you are and how seriously you take the care of
your family both 2 legged, 4 legged and extended.
It is very sad to have lost these babies but it was an act of
nature beyound your control.
Anyway I just had to remind you how awsome we think you are!

Marsha, I liked
what you wrote about your breeding program on the website. I am
sorry I have not been on this page in a while and don't know how
long it has been posted, but I have to say I agree with your
philosophy and I think that is why Ginger turned out so great.
Ivy's puppies look beautiful! Love the pic of their first meal.
All is well here, Ginger's doing just fine! She is loved very
much. Right now she is sacked out on her special bed, on her
back, with all 4 paws up in the air!!
Best,
Claudette

Hello all my
family and extended family. Happy birthday to all my siblings!!!
xoxox Bode
We've been reading about all of you, but haven't posted in a
long time!
It was Bode's birthday yesterday. We gave him a great cake. Try
it yourselves.
2c. wheat flour, 1 tsp salt (mix together in large bowl) Add 1
c. water and 1 tbs honey. Let sit for 10 min. Add 1 tbs of
canola oil. Let set for 20 minutes. It is very thick and heavy
(just like a big dough ball). Put in baking pan. Bake @ 400 for
30 minutes. When it came out, we stacked it and stuck in 2
milkbones as candles. I have a picture and will send to Marsha.
Bode is doing great! We finally have some snow in Buffalo. Next
to playing with his friends and being with the family - it's
BOde's favorite thing - romping in the snow. I swear I think he
skips through the snow when we run on the golf course next to
our house.
Well thanks for the birthday card Marsha. I've got a sick child
at home (we think chickenpox). Hope dogs can't get them!!!

That is a cute
video Marsha! To confirm the participants it's Malcolm, Julian
and yeah me the big kid jumping in the snowbanks!
Seeing the puppies reminded me of all the fun we had with
Dennies last litter(Sept/06), meeting some of the great dog
owners that you've found really establishes (again and again)
how caring you are and great at finding them good homes!
We are looking forward to a springtime filled with puppies and
all of the joy that they bring!
Thanks for the fun,
Janet

Hi Marsha!
Zack is 65 lbs+ and we celebrated his birthday on Oct.23rd, a
day after our sons' 13th! We are still enjoying him so much &
get many comments & compliments on him. Seems more people in
Kamloops, BC are familiar with labradoodles, & often want to
know if he is one! Remember me sharing my husbands' concern over
the breed because of his past experience with a poodle? Well, he
is SO glad that I stuck to my guns about getting one of your
dogs. He can cuddle him without getting itchy eyes, etc! Zack
loves to jump & catch balls in his mouth, play soccer, chase our
cats, stretch & get belly rubs. I am taking him to Rally-O & he
is smart & catches on quickly. When he barks, which he doesn't
do lots of, sometimes he bays like a hound! Do your other dogs
do that? It's a riot & high-pitched! I will ask for help to send
a photo of him to you soon. Thanks again for your commitment to
excellence in breeding such a great family dog!

Your lovely note
to Marsha so beautifully reflects how we all feel about her
gorgeous dogs. She is a first class breeder and everyone should
know that. I hope she posts some of these "testimonials" on her
website. In answer to your clipping question I clip Riley (1 1/2
years old) every 6 weeks at a groomers and since getting on that
regimen I have had no matting and he looks spectacular.
Expensive but worth the lack of aggrevation

I can relate to
your concern, but Marsha did a great job for me and my husband
picking out a puppy that was more independent. Both my husband
and I work long hours and our puppy, Simon, is home by himself
Monday through Friday. We take him for a run or a walk in the
mornings so he will sleep most of the day and a dog walker comes
twice a day for 30 minutes and we have never had a problem. He
seems perfectly content either playing by himself during the day
or sleeping until we come home.
I think as long as you express this concern to Marsha, she will
do her best to make sure your family gets a puppy who is a
little bit more independent than some of the others. Granted,
the minute either my husband or I get home, Simon follows us
around and needs to be by our side at all times, so he is not
completely independent!!
I think the best advise is to make sure the puppy has exercise
and stimulation when you are around so that he can spend the
rest of the time sleeping!

We can't believe
it's been one year. I can say there were some challenging times
but it feels like Lucas has been part of our family forever.
Just yesterday my son said he couldn't remember life without
Lucas. Here's to another great year.

Hi Mom & Dad & 7
brothers and sisters,
Happy 6-month Birthday to all of my brothers & sisters! I am six
months old now and I'm doing great! I love my new home..lots of
action going on all the time here..just like my old house..lots
of kids...always someone to play with me! I am getting so
big...I think I am over 50 pounds now, but I'm not sure (I
haven't been weighed lately)...My human parents can't pick me up
anymore so I figure I must be too heavy for them now!
I can do lots of things now though...I can run really fast, I
can jump up on anything now (my human parents don't like it
though), I know a whole bunch of tricks, I know how to swim
really good (I jumped in my friend's fish pond...but my human
parents don't want me to swim in there for some reason!)
I have my human parents and my human brother & sisters wrapped
around my little finger...all I have to do is look at them and
they will do whatever I want...they say I am so cute...I am
friendly & sociable and I listen to them, just like you taught
me...everywhere we go people love me. You guys would be so proud
of me!
I hope everything is well with you Mom & Dad and all of my
beautiful brothers & sisters...My human mom reads the forum and
tells me all about you guys...I think about you guys all the
time...I miss you very much...I just know we will see each other
soon. Love you all!!!

Hi Marsha: Well,
we have celebrated Jada's first birthday and look forward to
celebrating many more. She is the apple of Larry's eye.
Actually, everyone that meets her falls in love. Our groomer
adores Jada so much that for Valentines day her boyfriend bought
her a black standard poodle because it looks like Jada. Marsha,
again I have to thank you for breeding such magnificent dogs.
Jada brings so much joy and laughter into our lives. Cheers,
Rita (I will try to get online more because I would love to come
to a doggies gathering)

Marsha, I just
needed to thank you again (this will go on for years). My mom
had her 50th birthday party last night and Mabel stole the show,
no one could believe how good she was for being less than a year
and a half old. She is such a calm, self assured dog. One man
starting in on designer dogs and everyone replied that to get a
dog like Mabel is worth the 'designer' label. Anyways, things
are great out here in Saskatchewan, Mabel loves the cold but
there isnt enough snow for her.

A short note to
say "thank you" for Saturday. Kim it was really nice to meet
you, Ivy's puppies were obviously well loved and cared for at
your house. Marsha thanks for opening up your home for us to
visit Brody (again)! The boys say a BIG thank you for the ATV
rides. 13 puppies ... I'm glad it's you and not me (LOL)

Thanks Marsha. He
loves it at the cottage! Of course, he has free run of the
cottage and the house, and loves to curl up on the bed or the
couch, often on his back with his head on a pillow and his legs
/ paws up in the air. He regards seagulls as a challenge and
just got through helping us look after a family of birds nesting
in a birdhouse in one of the cottage trees. Scooter would go to
check the birdhouse at every available opportunity, and he and
the mother bird, which would sit on a branch outside the house
and look down on him as he looked up, would have a running
dialogue. Just before first flight, the babies would fall,
daily, out of the house. Scooter would be somewhat bewildered by
this, but very gentle, standing by as I got out the extension
ladder yet again (!) with the latex gloves to replace the
progeny in the house while the mother bird looked on not three
feet away in the branches. There's a kids' story in this, I
think!
Yes, his coat is still very soft, particularly after all the
swimming -- well prancing really! For a combination of two water
dogs, he's really not a swimmer, though he loves to run an leap
in the shallow water.
All the best.
Scott

Hi, Marsha! Sorry
for our long silence - things have been very hectic between
settling everyone (including the two dogs) back into the
routine, then our continuing house repairs/renovations caused by
the faulty and negligent builder and Paul and I have also been
spelling each other off in and out with work travel. Makes for a
busy time all around.
Taiga is fantastic, she has fit into the family well and we all
love her; she is about 30 pounds now and still wolfs her food
down. She is a full half-size bigger than our 3-yr old sheepdog
(a solid 40 pounds) and torments him; they get along very well
aside from the tormenting - he has no tail but a small stump and
she will literally nip his stummpie, then take off. We also tell
people that she, with her low, deep bark would scare a robber
away, then lick him to death, then our sheepdog - a good guard
dog being naturally suspicious of strangers - would take over
and finish the job. She is a real lag dog; Paul often sits with
her in the evenings and they both enjoy that. Our sheepdog isn't
so much that way, so the two dogs really complement each other,
and our family lifestyle, with their differing needs and likes.
We are so pleased with her and how things have worked out for us
all.

that Charlie
became a part of our family. I must admit, it has been a
very hectic year but also such a joyful one!!! Charlie has
brought so much life and love to our home again. It is so
nice to have someone to greet us when we come home...to see
his big black face looking out of the back door as we unlock
it. To feel him curled up at our feet as we sleep (yes
Marsha....a dog has now ended up on our bed!!). Everything
this year has been a first for all of us, the snow last
winter, the muddy yard in spring, trying to walk on
water....and not succeeding this summer and the leaves
falling from the trees (he thinks it's a squirrel causing
it). Our home is filled with laughter and lots of love. It
is amazing (it never ceases to amaze me) that such a tiny
soul can create so much joy.
I am so glad that I found my way to your website Marsha. You
do an amazing job at matching up your pups with their
potential owners. I hope you realize how much joy you bring
to people. Thank you for our wonderful Charlie!!
