We have been breeding Goldendoodle puppies in Toronto Ontario since 2003. This year me moved to our rolling hills property in Zephyr, Uxbridge Ontario where our family, which includes 5 dogs, 4 sons, a husband, a wife and a 77 year old live in helper. Under one roof!
Our children do not want me to stop breeding dogs, period. I have asked them on occasion when my other job is busy ( office on our property and all the dogs are with us in the office. We LOVE having the pups in our house. Puppies brighten our day every day! Puppies! Isn't that what most children wish they could play with. I did! Still do.
Our children adore having them especially since they don't loose any fur because they have hair - non-shedding dog. Hair is not the same as fur. It grows long so it needs to be cut unlike most shedding dogs.
Personally I get to play midwife. When our dogs are in active labour I am with them the entire time which has been up to 12 hours for a litter of 10. I actually get a fill in
even to leave for a minute. I am fed and watered and so is the mother in labour. Fresh home made Chicken Soup poured over ice to keeps momma hydrated and strong, puppies also taste better when they are glazed with chicken soup from when she is caring for them.
The puppies featured on this page are previous litters from Bubby and Murphy. They were born Jan. 2005 and Sept. 2006. We currently have three black Goldendoodle puppies and three light golden coloured Goldendoodle pups. The current litter were born May 26th, 2009 . The dame is Bubby a F1B Goldendoodle and the sire is Murhpy F1 Goldendoodle. They are big and healthy puppies whose coat Expecting Standard Size 60-75 pounds at full size. Beautiful coats, sensitive, fantastic with children, non-shedding, relaxed curl. Really fantastic pups from these two.
We believe that our Goldendoodle puppies (breeding dogs) have the right to the same type of life as our other puppies that are adopted. They should all be pampered pets first and breeding dogs as a bonus. We do not believe in getting rid of family members when they get old. We take care of them. We have a non re-homing policy in our breeding program. We place our breeding dogs with families that really want a dog. They found us the same way you found this site. They went through the same application process as any other adoptive family would go through. The difference is that they are allowing Ludwig's Doodles to lease their dog for breeding purposes. They trust the way we run our breeding program.
Why would someone want to do that? For different reasons each family has agreed but the one thing they have in common is a trust that I would never do anything to their dog that would be bad. They fully trust me and the integrity of the program. Some families love the process since there is nothing better than playing with puppies. This would be their free pass to our house whenever they wanted to come.
Our breeding program is focusing on the higher generations of Goldendoodles. I am trying to produce a non-shedding, allergy friendly, solid structure, strong head, active, smart, alert, calm, gentle, easy going and high desire to please Goldendoodle. I find I can achieve this in the higher generation F1B Goldendoodle, F2B Goldendoodle or F3B Goldendoodles. For now my program is focusing on the F2 and F3 generations. I am very pleased with the results.more...

Dog's are here to stay. Let's learn to live with them~! Routine and consistency is the Key!
The difference between a kennel and a home breeder are the living conditions and socialization. Not all Kennels are dirty and not all home breeders are clean. Not all kennels lock their dogs in runs all day and not all home breeders offer great living conditions. You need to make sure the breeder you choose is one that cares about cleanliness, health testing and socialization of the adult dogs and puppies. Having an adult dog or puppy live in unsanitary conditions has to have life long health effects. Think of it this way ... if you have a sewage flood in your basement, you will find that they will remove and discard everything that was in contact with the contaminated water. Well puppies and adults sitting in their own feces and urine has to have respiratory ramifications as well as compromising the maturing immune system.

Here at Ludwig's Doodles we maintain a level of cleanliness in the puppy area that visitors can come with little advance notice. I do not believe in washing puppies before people come, I believe they should always be as clean as possible. If our puppies go to breeding homes for part of the raising period they follow the same rules as we have here. They need to be socialized with people including children, kept clean, given a large amount of living space and all around well kept and loved. We use breeding homes and have some of them raise the puppies so that we can produce more fantastic home raised puppies without having our home overloaded. It is a great balance in being able to expand our breeding business but maintain the quality of puppies we produce.
We keep in touch with every owner of every puppy

They send in photos and I post them. The page is incomplete because I stopped posting to Picturetrail. I started doing individual pages. It will take a bit of time to transfer them all over to this new format.
Every breeding home has the support of the entire family. The two girls in Windsor come here often. They have become our second family. The two girls in Stratford act as if they are one of us. Nala my sister-in-laws girl is one of us. Keiko lives so close that we see her all the time. Some how I have the support of all those in the program. This year I have added three Standard Poodles ( one I kept back ) Dharma's puppies. We may be doing the show circuit with them. They will start my purebred Standard Poodle line if they pass the required health testing. Hopefully one from Ivy's litter is in (we will see) and one from Keiko's litter will be living with Keiko and also in the program.
